This portable self contained scanner optically maps the surface of an object and saves the result as a mesh.

The scanner can be moved around the object to ensure as complete a scan as possible whilst its own positioning system determines its relative location.

Some other systems produce a 'Point Cloud' that needs to be converted into a 'Surface Mesh'.
